Summary
Virnig Manufacturing is in search of a CNC Machinist operator at our Pikeville, TN plant. This position will
operate CNC machines and manual machine tools, including set-ups, in a productive and safe manner to
produce steel components that meet Virnig quality standards in an efficient manner, while minimizing waste of
materials and resources. Strong communication and interaction skills are needed. Organizational skills are
necessary to ensure work is done correctly, on time, and properly documented.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines and hand tools

• Must read, interpret and understand layouts, job packets and blueprints for components being

• Load and unload materials and parts from machines

• Measure, examine, and test completed parts in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to

• Collect, input and test data, which involves use of various tools, gauges and instruments.

• Perform necessary side operations during machine cycle time as required

• Perform daily maintenance of machines as required and keep lead informed of necessary maintenance

• Maintain a clean, safe work area

• Adjust tools and space as needed

• Responsible to inform leads(s) of any concerns that arise.

• Be cooperative, positive, and respectful with management, leads, coworkers and team.

• Assist in other areas as needed, other duties as assigned.
• Work overtime as needed.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Degree in Machine Tool Technology a plus but not required

• Experience working in a Job Shop or production machining environment, including full set-ups

• Ability to effectively use basic inspection tools (Calipers, Mics, Gauges, etc.)

• Able to read and interpret blueprints, CNC programs and operational layouts

• Ability to perform duties under minimum supervision while maintaining quality and performance

• Able to skillfully drive a skid-loader and forklift

• Able to lift up to 50-75 pounds

• Willing to work up to a 10hr day shift (12hr night shift) when needed
